Tell us a little bit about your early career. How did you end up going to SPJIMR and how would you describe the lessons you have learned on the way from there to here?
I got my degree in production engineering from a regional engineering college (now NIT) in Jamshedpur. Thereafter I joined Tata Motors in 1993 and spent a really interesting stint as a fresh engineer in such a large set up. Tata Motors had a huge emphasis on training. They had a graduate engineer training programme spanning almost two years during which you gained exposure to multiple departments, various projects etc.

Divya Mittal holds a B.Tech. from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Bangalore. Divya received scholarships from the French and German governments, leading her to academic experiences at Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis, Nice (France) and Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Unternehmensführung, Koblenz (Germany). After her MBA she worked in the Investment Banking industry in London. She has developed complex models to value derivatives and risk-managed a multi-million dollar portfolio of exotic derivatives.
