Face Your Demons - Reshma Majithia
There are so many things we like to do, but not all of us are
confident of doing them mainly because we are petrified or timorous,
reclusive or there is a dearth of self-confidence in us and are often tormented
about what others will think of us. We come across people from
different walks of life, they accomplish what they set out to achieve.
They might have many talents to boast of, you can call them multifaceted.
They have the gift of the gab and can get away with murder,
whereas, most of us suffer from agoraphobia. We have a propensity
to compare ourselves with others. The golden rule is don't ever compare
yourself with others. We all have our own fears and we must triumph over them.
Don't let fear be a hindrance to what you wish to do.
Don't let fear be an impediment to success. Each of us is different in
the things we fear. Many of us consider ourselves failures when
we really have just quit trying. We cannot cop out on our problems
because that will only leave us feeling inadequate.
Your lackadaisical attitude will not get you anywhere in life.
If you resolve on doing something you can do anything. It could be
even climbing Mount Everest. But first start with being confident, for
self-confidence is a virtue. People, however, have serious misconceptions
when it comes to failure, for they often put negative labels on those
whom they perceive to have failed. It's important to understand that the
number of times we fail at something, whether it's large or small,
we are one step closer to success. Remember the axiom
'Try, try till you succeed'.
