Second day at the CAT faces issues due to virus attack
November 30, 2009
After a disastrous start of the computer based CAT the second consecutive day also saw computers crash across exam centers due to virus attack. Following the first day's problems the organizers of the nationwide entrance test had put up a notification on the CAT IIM website informing candidates of the closure of a few of the affected testing labs across a few centers for the second day in order to rectify the issue. Of the total 360 labs around 50 labs reported issues with its computers and around 2000 tests could not be delivered on the first day. Bangalore was the worst affected and 11 of its testing labs remained closed on the second day. For more information and updates log on to www.catiim.in
As per unconfirmed reports around 5000 students will now have to take the CAT afresh at new dates. Candidates are advised to stay contactable by phone and email at all times. For further assistance, please contact Prometric Candidate Care at 1-800-103-9293.
