Student intake to be increased at IIM A

India's premier business school the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM A) is all set to increase its student intake by 28% for the next academic session in 2010. As per unconfirmed reports the institute is also planning to increase faculty strength and also have a few changes incorporated in the curricula starting next year. IIM A currently has 350 students. The government has sanctioned Rs 32 crore as funds for its expansion plans.
The institute also plans to invest funds to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. This is an on campus computer software system that would help manage and co-ordinate different resources, information and functions. There are also plans to bring in a few changes in the curricula for executive MBA programme as well as a few of the regular programmes with a focus on the economic recession.
