IIM A comes third at the Columbia Business School 'Odyssey' competition -

The Columbia Business School, one among the premier business schools in the US, played host to the Odyssey competition organized by the students at CBS on the 27th and 28th of March . The students from Columbia had announced the launch of its global competition on the 20th of March 2009.
The winners who took away the grand prize at the event were the London Business School in first place, Harvard Business School in second and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM A) at the third place. The event was held at the Columbia Business School premises in New York.
'ODYSSEY 15', represented by seven countries, competed in a triathlon of business management contests, which aimed to prepare them for the challenges posed by a global economy. The students who participated hailed from China Europe International Business School, Harvard Business School, Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), INSEAD (France), London Business School and others. 'ODYSSEY' is the first MBA competition that also gave its participants access to a symposium with a roster of distinguished global business leaders from the world’s top corporations. This year’s featured speakers included Ian Davis, managing director, McKinsey & Company, Steve Forbes, chairman and CEO, Forbes, Steve Leaman, joint global head of Investment Banking, UBS, Didier Lombard, chairman and CEO, France Telecom – Orange and Mary McDowell, executive vice president and chief development officer, NOKIA.
