Sports Management at IIM Shillong

The Indian Institute of Management, Shillong is all set to kick start a six month certificate course on sports management starting this October. This programme is aimed at  equipping students with information in areas of sport event management, sports marketing and sponsorship sales. This basic learning should enable students to get a foot hold in the emerging Indian sports market. Employment opportunities exist in sports organizations like golf management companies, sport marketing companies and sport associations for ones completing the certificate course. The students will be exposed to case studies on the issue of celebrity management and sport event organization. The programme will have 30 seats. Candidates desiring to apply for the 6 month certificate program in Sports Management should be graduates. The course fee is Rs. 10,000/-. The program is non-residential, part time and 3 days in a week from 6 pm to 8 pm at the IIM Shillong campus.

Interested candidates may download the application form from www.iimshillong.in, and submit the same with a demand draft of Rs. 200/- payable in Shillong and drawn in favor of “Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management”. The last date for receiving the filled up applications is 1st October 2009. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a group discussion for the final selection.
