PROJECT SUNFLOWER unveiled to create inspiration amongst students, parents and teachers
December 15, 2009
The Prevailing Scenario
Each child is born with a unique talent. However, most Indian children in the age group of 12 – 18 have to inevitably endure a lot of pressure. Although the Indian education system is one of the best in the world, it is not friendly to students who do not perform well academically.
This typically creates the following issues:
- Low self esteem and confidence among children
- High levels of stress and anxiety
- Suppression of creativity and imagination.
- Lack of interest in academic as well as extra curricular pursuits
- Inculcation of undesirable habits, addictions and depression
- Frustration and unhappiness among parents.
- Demotivation and helplessness in teachers
If no action is taken on this front, the situation will snowball into a full fledged crisis in the future. Some of the resulting future trends could be
- Higher incidence of stress, depression and frustration leading to increase in aggression, violence, unhappiness, addictions and high suicide rates among youngsters
- Absence of peace of mind in families
- Loss of faith in the formal education system
- Hopelessness and pessimism in society in general, leading to steady degradation of social values
A New Future
We look at this situation as an opportunity to create and renew inspiration amongst children, parents and teachers.
An inspired community of children, parents and teachers will lead to a future that is certain to be characterized by
- High levels of confidence, happiness, peace of mind and productivity in youngsters
- Cultivation of talent in all areas leading to creation of world-class thinkers, philosophers, designers, sportsmen and scientists
- Development of a well-rounded and credible education system.
- A healthy society
The First Step
We begin our mission to accomplish the above by initiating a special community event – Project Sunflower.
Project Sunflower
This will see a seminar delivered by four successful and eminent personalities who, unimaginable as it may seem now, had to actually deal with academic difficulties during their school days. It would be attended by 20,000 students, parents and teachers – students currently facing challenges academically along with parents and teachers grappling to inspire and guide them under the circumstances.
This seminar is scheduled to be held on 10th January 2010.
We openly invite like-minded people and institutions to join us in this endeavour of ours to create a happy and successful future for the children of this country.
Please get in touch with one of us for supporting /associating with this project in any capacity that you may feel suited to.
