CAT 2009
13th July 2009
Answers to a few queries about Common Admission Test(CAT) 2009 have been posted on the official CAT website under “CAT 2009: FAQs dated July1st,2009”. As per the website the CAT 2009 bulletin will be made available in the later part of August 2009. Dispelling misconceptions among aspirants, the website clarifies that the CAT will be a Computer Based Test(CBT) and not an Internet Based Test (IBT) .i.e instead of reading the questions on paper the candidate will now read and choose answers on a computer terminal. CAT is also not a computer adaptive test and will not have any changes in the format of the test. At the test centers students will also be provided with writing pads with numbered pages for rough calculations.
Candidates have to pay a testing fee of Rs 1,400 (Rs 700 for SC/ST). These vouchers for CAT 2009 will be made available at select bank branches and other locations after the advertisement appears in August. The CAT voucher will also include information about on line registration and other application related information.
CAT 2009 will be conducted during a ten day window period starting at the end of November 2009 and candidates are permitted to take the test only once during the testing window for 2009.
