Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has announced admissions to the fourth batch of the Management Programme for Entrepreneurs & Family Businesses (MPEFB 4), starting February 9, 2010.
MPEFB is an exclusive programme meant to support the learning needs of entrepreneurs - those who are starting their business as well as those who feel the need to streamline and upgrade their business by acquiring advanced management skills. This uniquely designed programme, which combines 40 days of face-to-face sessions at IIM Bangalore campus with faculty-driven online interaction sessions over a span of one year, ensures that entrepreneurs pursue their learning agenda without taking significant time off from their businesses.
“In today’s competitive economic scenario, good insights into the fundamentals of business and state-of-the-art management skills are very essential for entrepreneurs to succeed in their business. MPEFB goes a long way in helping entrepreneurs with these inputs” comments Professor K. Kumar, Chairperson, NSRCEL.
“It is a very useful program for people like us. The course has changed our way of thinking and the way business has to be conducted” says Hari Kishore Yadalam, Co-founder, Pragati Group, a real estate company based in Bangalore, who belongs to the second batch of MPEFB. “The course has helped me to overcome my limitations and has completely given me a new line of thinking” concurs Ketan Patel, CEO, Creative Peripherals and Distribution Private Limited, Mumbai who is a part of the third batch of MPEFB.
MPEFB addresses exclusively the needs of entrepreneurs and owners of family businesses, and provides a workable model for entrepreneurs to acquire managerial skills. The unique aspect of MPEFB is the realistic assumptions it makes regarding the time constraints an entrepreneur faces. Accordingly, leading-edge web-based e-learning methods are judiciously blended with traditional classroom teaching to provide reach and convenience. This unique design has attracted participants with diverse backgrounds from all over the country. “The interaction with diversely thinking class mates has been amazing” asserts Ketan Patel.
A typical participant of MPEFB would be a graduate, preferably from a reputed institution, and would be an entrepreneur or running a family business. Applicants will be evaluated based on multiple criteria, including short narratives about his/her entrepreneurial journey, entrepreneurial goals and professional development needs. About 60 participants would be admitted in the programme. The academic year will run from February 8, 2010 to February 6, 2011, over four terms. Last date for registrations to MPEFB 4 is December 7, 2009.
