Praxis B-school commences placements for its first batch

The Final Placements of the First Batch of the Kolkata-based Praxis Business School kicked off on February 15, 2009. The 2007-09 batch of Praxis, which is also the School’s first graduating batch, has 47 students, of which 45 have opted to go through the Placement process. From the developments so far, prospects for students seem to be bright despite the slump in the economy and slow-down in hiring by most companies. Several prominent recruiters have completed their recruitments on campus and made offers, the most notable among them being ITC Infotech, Enzen Global, Axis Bank, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, ICICI Bank and IMS Learning Resources. The average salary offered so far is Rs. 4.72 lakh. Praxis Business School seems pretty confident of placing its entire batch, with another 25+ companies expected to participate in the 2009 placement process. As on March 25, 3 companies had already completed their preliminary rounds, 8 had initiated the process by inviting applications, and 8 others had confirmed participation and will be conducting their processes over the next month. Several other confirmations were almost certain.
