25 days to CET
“25 Days to CET” a session laying emphasis on the techniques towards cracking the CET was organized by IMS at the Tardeo center on the 2nd of February 2011.
CET 2009 3rd Ranker Bhavin Mehta gave tips to the students on how to prepare for the exam. For all those who missed attending the session take a look at Bhavin’s tips:
Keys to do well in entrance exams:
Passion to do an MBA: Only when there is that urge of getting the coveted MBA degree, will you put in your 100% for your entrance preparation. This has to be backed with dedication to reach there by practicing enough for sufficient number of hours.
Specific to CET:
Strong fundamentals
Speed, speed, speed!
Analytical/ Visual Reasoning abilities
IG – Intelligent Guessing
High Concentration Levels
Strategies for CET:
Test Cricket strategy: Divide your time into 5 sessions of 30 mins each or 3 sessions of 50 mins each and attempt maximum in each session. E.g. 60 attempts every 50 mins will give you 180 attempts
ODI strategy: Play from question no. 1 and keep moving till the end. Use your strength areas as powerplays when you have lost on time and maintain the run rate of solving required number of questions per minute
T-20: Right from the word go, attack every question with fastest speed. If there is a question that is taking over 90-100 seconds, you may want to use IG and move on to next question.
Soccer Fan: Skim through the field (paper) quickly and attempt wherever you find solvable questions. Can have random attempts through the question paper. Suitable, if preparation is not very thorough.
Keep in Mind during the last 20 days:
At least one mock every alternate day
Focus on analysis, identify the weak areas and practice such questions from BRMs
Try 2-3 different strategies during mock exams till you find the strategy you are most comfortable with and then build strength areas around the same
Meditate! It helps.
Keep away from stress/distractions.
Eat healthy.
Have sufficient sleep in the last 10 days.
Try and increase your stamina to maintain concentration right through 150 mins. But do not let fatigue enter you.
Relax; refresh 2 days prior to the test day!
All the best! May the power be with you!
